Planning: Locations/Health and Safety

Starting Scene:
  • The first scene is set in a bedroom. One of our group members recently moved into a local flat, so we will use this location for this and the ending scenes. We will not need to acquire permission to film here due to this. This scene will be shot in daytime, but apart from that there is no exact timing required, as it takes place indoors.
Second and Third Scenes:
  • This will consist of the band members coming into shot from the side of a pub, and then entering, with the door closing behind them. For this scene we need a relatively quiet pub that has space for all our filming equipment and team. Once the final location for this scene is decided upon, we need to gain permission from the owner and organize a time to film. We will need to film during the late evening around 5-6 pm, for continuity if any windows are in shot. This scene will include a drinking montage, so we will need to make sure we have enough money to pay for the various beverages.
 Fourth Scene (Performance):
  • During the pub drinking scene we will cut to a performance shot, which will take place outside of the pub. This will be filmed at dusk in a local side-street or alleyway, with nearby streetlamps for lighting.  For this scene we will only need permission if there are people outside.
Fifth Scene:
  •  In this scene, the band members will leave the pub through the front doors. After walking out of the shot, they will then be shown walking down alleyways and side streets as they stumble home. There will also be a short argument between the group members, so if there is any physical action we will have to take care that no-one is actually injured. As with the previous scene, we do not need specific permission for this but will still need to take passers-by into account.
Sixth Scene (Performance):
  •  This performance scene will take place within the same alleyway as the previous one. Again, we will only need permission from passers-by.
Final Scene:
  • During the final scene, the actor from the first scene will stumble through the front door of the flat, go up the stairs and into the bedroom,  where they will collapse on the bed. After this the alarm clock will go off, displaying 6:00 am. This closing shot can in fact be recycled for the first scene. As stated above, we will not need permission to film here.

During all scenes, any electrical cables used will present trip hazards. This will be especially true during the dark outside scenes, so it will have to be made clear where any cables are to prevent potential injury.
