final product audience feedback questions
- To what extent do the products resemble real-life, professional music videos, adverts and digipaks?
- Does the appearance of the products fit with the Indie Rock genre?
- Are the products appealing to look at? Are they interesting to the viewer?
- Is there anything you don't like about the products?
- How do they work together?

Progress update
The products are finished, and I will soon upload the final versions of everything. I have made some final alterations to the products, included additional legal text and a recoloured panel for the digipak and some different coloured text to aid visibility on the advert.

Work Progress
Some alterations this week working from audience feedback. For example, I've changed the top-left digipak panel image. Originally, I had elected to go use a market shot, but this was disliked, apparently not 'fitting in' with the rest of the product and the genre. Therefore, I have replaced it with a brick wall-shot, one which I was originally going to use anyway before I changed the images around a bit as I was editing them in. The two middle panels were the ones to disrupt things here, and as a result I now have three group shots instead of the originally planned two. However, I do think that the current layout looks nice.
Also, I have made more panels monochrome. I'm not sure it is entirely appealing to me, so I may alter this.
On the whole, I think the products are almost done.

Completed first drafts of Ancillary Products
Please note that with the above digipak, the top row would form the interior panels. As such, the net in reality would have the top panels rotated by 180 degrees. They have been displayed this way for ease of viewing.
Ancillary products feedback
- The print advert and digipak are for an Indie Rock band. Are they appropriate for this genre?
- Do the products look professional? Is there anything that could be done to improve them?
- Are the overall designs of the products appealing to look at? Is there anything that doesn't quite work?
- Does the text's fonts and colours look appropriate? Wold you change anything?
- What about the images used? Would you change any of them?
- Do the two products look like they belong to the same brand?

Some notes on photos used
As I noted in the photo-shoot upload, I was planning to have three sets of two images, one focusing on George, the second on Milo, and the third on both, for the digipak. However, as I was arranging images in Photoshop, this changed, and I found an arrangement which (I believe) is more visually appealing than my original plan. The back is now focused entirely on scenery, and a similar group shot is being used for the front. I have used two more group shots, not just one, leaving just one panel each for individual photos of the performers. I have chosen to use a market shot over the brick-wall shot, though I think they are to some extent interchangeable. There was less of a variety of shots featuring Milo, but I am still happy with the one I have chosen.
In short, I think that the current choice of pictures for the digipak will be appealing to the audience.

Photoshoot
These are the photos taken on the photoshoot for the ancillary tasks. As mentioned in the planning posts, I wanted to get a mix of urban and more scenic backgrounds. The outfits are typical for late teens to wear. Of the photos I have chosen to go ahead with, I tried to create an interesting variety. There were two main locations for the shoot, around a local carpark and beside the town market. I tried to get both individual and group shots of the performers, and will try to balance these in the digipak. I have tried for some stereotypical poses, particularly with the singer, George, to keep the results similar to professional photos. The brick wall created a nice clean background, and I liked the poses Used, so I will definitely be using one of those shots in the digipak, as well as one or two of the shots overlooking the hills at the edge of the carpark. The scenery is quite impressive, and will be useful for adding a bit of colour to the digipak. The marketplace images of George provide a bit of contrast. I will probably use two shots focussing on Milo (bassist) to balance out these two of George. I think one of the portrait shots of the two walking with their backs to the camera would look good for the print advert.
